I KNOW!!! It has been a LOOOONG time since my last post (sounding a bit repetitive don't you think?). It has been a pretty busy summer. Still at the same job. definitely getting busier there. That is good. I like taking on new responsibility. I did run into the former VP of my last job and she wants to grab coffee with my to try to discus where I can go from here. I am really excited about that!
This has been a new song out this summer. After the date's I have been on this summer I LOVE this song!! I feel like it is an anthem for bad dates everywhere :)
Oh yea...and I'm another year older. Ugh...Can't I stay 25?

A Return from the Jungle
Oye, I know it has been a long time sense I have written. Apparently when you have all the time you could image on your hands, somehow you become more tired. Why is that? I know it is not just me. I see it in people of all ages. While unemployed I would wakeup around 10, do my job search, make my Dad’s lunch, get dressed, eat something myself, and then be so tired I felt like I needed a nap!? I don’t get it! I felt so lazy! But luckily that is over. I started a new job about two weeks ago.
I am back to being an administrative assistant. My boss is nice and so are my coworkers, but I have to admit that I do miss marketing. Even though I worked in kind of an abstract part of marketing, it was fun to see what idea’s people came up with and how they were going to implement them. I think it was working in this environment that made me want to go back to Public Relations (my major). Now just getting back into it is going to be a challenge. I think it will be something to work towards and be my goal. Since the job I am currently in does not seem real challenging and does not really have a goal for me to work towards, I will make up my own!
Right before I started the job, I had a bit of a freak out. I took the job because I needed one. I interviewed for the job because I was told it was a temp to hire position. However after the fact I was told that the company is on a hiring freeze. Great! I just left a company that was in the same situation! My freak out was basically about how I feel that I am 25 years old, college educated, and the best job that I can get right now is an administrative assistant. I know that I am capable of so much more! I am really driven, and work really hard. Every job that I have left has told me that they “don’t know what they are going to do without me.” How come no one will hire me then! How do I prove on a resume that I will work my a** off for you (employer)!
Is it an unrealistic dream that I have? Is it completely ridiculous to think that even though I have been out of school for 3 years I feel as though I should have a better job. No, not a job, a career. Do all 25-year-old’s go through this? Probably not. I know a handful of people my age or YOUNGER who have fabulous careers, are traveling, buying fancy condos, yada yada yada. Where is my condo!? I work really hard! I have worked really hard! When will it be my turn!? How long can we keep blaming the economy?!
Wow, that was a lot. I do have more to write, but I will save it for another time. I guess that’s what happens when I don’t post anything for months. Opps! I will try to be better.

I've got my life raft! I'm ready to jump!

Ok, so the thing I could not tell you before is that I am leaving my job! 6 days left and counting! I am very excited for my next adventure and am very confident that God has something awesome for me. He has already provided me with peace with a few small doors opening in the future. In the mean-time I am looking forward to the time off. I need a vacation!
So the dating Web site…it is going OK I guess. I’m starting to wonder if it is actually pulling people that really match me, or just people that are within my age range and live in the area, or not in the area in some case.
Right now I would say out of 15 “non closed” matches and of those I have three active interests. One started communicating with me and the other two I started communicating with, but they have yet to respond. That was over a week ago. A funny little coincidence is that one of the two that has yet to respond I have met before at church. Now that I started communication and he has yet to respond I am fearful that he remembers me and is not interested. Ekks! That’s embarrassing. But at the same time, they were nice when I met them and couldn’t I just use this as an opportunity to get to know them better?
I am really interested in the etiquette of these sites as well. I feel like there are unspoken rules that I don’t know about. My example of this is one of my first matches was actually a friend from college who I, and my girl friends, loved dearly when we were all closer, but were not interested in dating. He is a great guy, and I know that he will make some girl really happy, but for me the chemistry is and was never there. Also about nine months ago a friend told me that she was matched with him. My friend and I are totally opposites so this was surprising that we were both matched with him. Knowing this information I emailed him saying how funny that he had been matched with two people he knew from college, and asked how the site had been working for him. What this wrong? Should she not have told me? Should I have not mentioned that I knew about the match?
Also what am I supposed to do with the match? I feel like closing it would be a slap in the face to him. But it’s not personal. Should I just let him hang in limbo? He seems to be leaving me there too? Hmm…oh what I will learn in this process!

Adieu 2009! Bonjour 2010!!
Well, this is my first post of the New Year. I hope everyone had a great holiday season. The last few days it has been really interesting reflecting on 2009, all that I hoped it would be, and what it actually turned out to be.
I remember arriving home New Years day and thinking, “this is going to be a good year, I am going to make this a good year.” After 2008 felt a little bit like a let down, I was determined to turn a new leaf. 2008 felt somewhat like a step back in life. After living in Eugene for almost 5 years, I quite my job, and moved back with my parents. I was unemployed for 2 months, and was still single. Well, unfortunately 2009 was not much different. I lived with my parents for the entire year, was still single, and work as a temp for the entire year. While all of this might seem mundane, there were some good things. I made some great friends and feel that I have a new network of close people. I am very thankful for this.
Like most people, I am happy to see 2010 and plan to make it a great year! I will move out! That is one of my main goals this year. I also want to try many more new things. I am going to take a yoga class, I am going to get in-shape, I am going to meet new people, and I am going to take a sailing class! I have one more new thing, but will have to revel that at a later time. I am scared about it, but excited for this leap of faith!
I am very excited for my new adventures. Probably the most adventurous thing I have done in the 4 new days of the New Year is join a dating Web site. Don’t think I’m desperate, or on a man hunt, or pathetic. I feel that I have a very level head about his and am going to try it for only 6 months. After being single for 5 years, I decided it will be good to connect with other people in the area and keep my relationship priorities in mind. I always told my self when I turned a certain age I would do it. While I have not met that age yet, I just had an overwhelming conviction of I’m not getting any younger and I might as well try it now. You will probably see me blogging mostly about this new experience for a while, but I am excited to see what will come from it and what I will learn about myself.
Stay tuned because new news will be coming soon!
